Powerpoint- Strategic Reading Lessons.
I felt the powerpoint was very informative. It helped me
understand the different ways that teachers can help improve a child fluency
and comprehension. The power point provided a flex grouping which grouped the
students based on a strategy that they needed to work on. The different
strategies helped improved a certain target to fit every students needs. To
help with the reading comprehension, it focused more on literature circles and
guided reading. I have always loved literature circles. My students love doing
them too. They loved talk about the book and relating to the book. I think this
provided great lesson ideas and it will really help me with doing the lessons
for my tutoring student
Literacy Content reading and scaffolding
I found this powerpoint very useful. It was full of ideas
and resources that will help any teacher be successful in the classroom. I like
how it has websites and resources for us to use. The running records we use in
our class every day. Overall I think this was a great PowerPoint and helps me
focus more on the specific steps of reading.
Video 1- I
really liked watching this video. If eel that watching a video always helps
provide a better visual in the classroom. I constantly work hard at
differentiating in instruction. I feel that his is a challenge for me and other
students. I think this video helped give me a clear understanding how to
differentiate instruction that will help improve and meet the child needs. This
will also help when working in the classroom because I differentiate all
instruction for all my kids which is called flex grouping. I always do this
before the CRCT to help them review and better understand what they personally
don’t understand when given practice test.
Video 2- I think this video focused more on the history of
differentiated instruction. It gave us a better understand of what
differentiate means. It also helped us understand why it is important in the
classroom. The teacher in the video has a class that was on different levels.
She had to find the way to meet fall of the students in the classroom. This can
be tricky for any teacher at times. At the school I teach at we are always
doing flexible grouping. I think that it is great if it is done correctly.
