Module 5

I have always felt that centered leading strategies are crucial to help a child learn. In this video I like how they did the different reading card activities.  I also like how they were divided into different groups. I feel that centers are important when working with the students because it helps them see different perspective and they are able to collaborate with their class members to understand the words they were reading on the card. I like how they were given independent work after working together with a partner. This really helps see where the child individually stands

I really like watching this video. As teacher I constant struggle on how I should let me kids sit. I want them to sit in area that they can benefit from learning. In my classroom I have the kids set up where they can learn by themselves or they can work in a group to do the assignment. I think that letting the kids have a say so in the way that they learn is crucial for them to understand. Having the students lined in a row is not a beneficial way to teacher to me. Yes, I do it when we have school wide assessments etc. I think that a child should be able to be a in a group with friends and understand the difference between working. I also feel that this has a big part to do with teachers who have control over their classroom.

Literacy centers in the classroom are great to help to increase comprehension and fluency for the students. I am a strong believe in literacy centers and how they help child develop.  I think that literacy center for a balanced approach in writing is a great when they are working together with a friend. I think that literacy centers benefit kids greatly when they’re done correctly.

Spaces and Places seemed like a real interesting boo to me. I think that as a teacher it is constant struggle to get the kids seated in a small group seating. This small group setting has to be beneficial for the child and help them learn. This book gives you the best ideas and seating plans to help keep your class engaged and eager to learn. I always feel that I am constantly changing my room around. I have a small space so it is difficult to have the kids in different groups.
